  • It was very convenient to VT which is what we needed.
  • I had a smoking room that I don't believe I ordered.

“This hotel is very convenient to Virginia tech. Even I could find the college and that is saying something. The continental breakfast was well worth it, with waffles, muffins, cereal and a lot of other choices. I would definitely stay here again.”

  • Nice, clean rooms. Easy access to Va Tech Campus.
  • Directions on internet were not correct. Breakfast could have more variety. Add fresh fruit variety and hard boiled eggs.

“Good choice for visiting parents.”

  • Clean, attractive, spacious room; pool; free passes to nearby gyms; variety at breakfast.

“Our attractive & spacious room had 2 full sized beds, Internet, and a view. Breakfast included waffles, cold cereals, breads, juices, & fruit. Well maintained outdoor pool. Minimal exercise room has dilapidated equipment but provides a convenient cardio workout. Alternatively, you can opt for a free pass to a nearby gym. Friendly staff was terrific in returning a medical device my husband inadvertently left behind. Hotels in Blacksburg are a little pricey and, at times, hard to come by. Given that, the Comfort Inn is reasonably priced and perfectly adequate. We'd certainly stay there again.”

  • It was right off the main road with a light so you can get in and out easy.
  • Staff at main desk was not real friendly.

“Location was good if you needed to get to VT. A light out on the main street made it easy to get in and out of Inn. Short drive to places to eat.”

I stayed at the Comfort Inn for a couple of nights while looking into one of Virginia Tech's graduate programs. I felt confident about the hotel after reading some other reviews, and I was not disappointed. Very happy with my stay overall. My room was clean, and the staff at the Comfort Inn were all very friendly and helpful. They patiently answered my many questions about the area. And my bed was indeed very, very comfortable! Wonderful after a long day of walking around new places. The hotel is conveniently located at the edge of Blacksburg. It's right on Main St. and the 460 business loop, so you can head straight downtown if you want. Or you can get onto 460 proper and drive by the west side of the Virginia Tech campus. This is good if you want to visit campus, since Southgate Drive, where the university's visitor center is located, is right off of 460 (although you will go by the east edge of campus if you take Main Street into town). Breakfast was standard: waffles, bagels, and cereal. Coffee was available in the lobby until around 11 pm. I only had a couple of minor complaints. I specifically reserved a room with a desk so I could do some reading, but the desk lamp was so weak as to be almost useless. No big deal, though: I just moved some furniture around until I had better lighting. Also, I like cool environments, and the A/C seemed kind of weak - and it's not like I was visiting in the heart of summer. Overall, though, I was very happy with my stay, and I would stay at this Comfort Inn again. Very pleased with the service I received.

“Friendly staff - late at night”

I needed two rooms late at night in Blacksburg. I was checking in with my 17 yr old son and three of his friends - who all wanted a really cheap room because the 4 of them were sharing the cost of one room. We had already stayed at a few dives elsewhere in Virginia while we looked at colleges across the state, so I was in the mood for something clean and civilized. Despite the fact that the boys and I drove around for an hour inquiring at different hotels about prices, I had no intention of staying at the Red Carpet Inn, The Lake Terrace Motel, or some of the other places. (Altho it should be mentioned that the proprietors at some of these places offered to negotiate with the boys - starting at $44.95. But the boys felt it was rude to negotiate, so we ended up back on our way..) The Super8 was full, the Hampton Inn had only luxury rooms left, and the boys didn't like the looks of the Ramada. Just about our last option was the Comfort Inn, and the gal behind the desk was very helpful. She helped us get the lowest rate we could qualify for, and couldn't have been nicer - especially to a group like us. The room was immaculate, the bathroom was renovated and the breakfast was included. The food wasn't fancy, but it was a fine continental breakfast - and well stocked. The boys claimed they wanted to swim in the morning, but I practically needed a Tazer to wake them all up and get them moving for the 11:00 a.m. check out. The hotel accepts pets, which are infinitely easier to manage and quieter than 4 teenagers. Again, the staff was patient and the room was such a welcome respite from my previous 3 days (and 4 teenage boys!), I hated to leave. I would really recommend the Comfort Inn - especially at the $72 a night we paid. The boys, of course, felt that $18 a person was highway robbery. Sigh.

We had many family members staying at this facility for a wedding. All were treated wonderfully by the staff. We would definitely recommend Comfort Inn to others.

This hotel made me feel extravagent: Wonderful breakfast bar. We were able to meet with other family members in the lounge and pool area without interruption. Staff gave us good directions to local places. They always smiled and were helpful.
I am very likely to return to the Comfort Inn Blacksburg. I would definitely recommend it to friends.
